3 things your child might do in their sleep (in combination or anyone of the below) that should prompt you to take them to your dentist and seek advice:
- Grinding their teeth in their sleep.
- Snoring (even a gentle purr).
- Sleeping with their mouth open and mouth breathing.
Children should sleep with their mouths closed and be breathing through their nose (unless they have a cold or suffer from allergies which are hopefully being treated). Mouth breathing has orthodontic, behavioural and physiological long term ramifications. Have your child examined by your dentist as they may be able to help.
